The Universe, also referred to as The Entirety, is classified as one of three essential existences of the Astronic cosmology, or the conception of the structure and nature of existence beyond The Cosmos believed in Astronism. The Universe, unlike in mainstream terminology, refers to an infinite realm beyond The Cosmos into which an infinite number of cosmoses are expanding and when referred to collectively, this infinite number of cosmoses forms The Omniverse which is itself infinitely encompassed by The Universe.

The Universe is distinguished in its ontology and nature from The Cosmos in that universal nature is infinite, unlimited, and permanent unlike cosmic nature which is finite, limited, and transient. A universality, or universology, is a particular perception and interpretation taken of the nature, structure, role, identity, and ontology of The Universe, of which are there a plethora within Astronism.

In Astronist belief, due to the Cosmic Limitation Principle, anything existent within The Cosmos is not considered to hold the ability to enter The Universe and vice versa due to their differences in being and nature. Essentially, that which is cosmic by its nature cannot exist in an infinite realm, but neither can something universal by its nature exist in a finite realm.

Debates regarding the createdness of The Universe have raged since the introduction of the Astronist cosmology in the Omnidoxy. One such belief held by the Millettarian Tradition as presided over by Cometan is the uncreatedness of The Universe which upholds the notion that The Universe has always existed due to its infiniteness and therefore was not created by The Divine, but still remains subordinate to The Divine due to its dependence upon The Divine for its existential sustainment. An opposing belief to that emerged shortly proceeding the Omnidoxy's publication and holds Cometanic roots and is known as inceptivism.

Whatever belief is held regarding the createdness of The Universe, the essential notion upheld by Astronism that the nature of The Universe is infinite, without limitation, remains sustained by and therefore subordinate to The Divine, and is in a permanent state of existence into which nothing of a cosmic nature is able to penetrate.

With the study of The Universe in Astronist cosmology has come various beliefs regarding the relationship between The Universe and The Divine and between The Universe and The Cosmos with prominent figures debating on the differences in natures of these three essential existences. Some theological universality uphold that The Universe is in fact The Divine itself, that The Universe created itself (known as the belief of autocreationism), and the denial of the infiniteness of The Universe.

Omniverse petition

The omniverse petition was a post-omnidoxical appeal of Cometanic origin that was proposed to The Institution of The Philosophy of Millettism to swap the names of The Universe and The Omniverse. This is because, with time, Cometan came to prefer the definition for The Universe as more suitable to the definition of The Omniverse and vice versa. This petition is still under review of The Institution and no official change has yet occurred.
